Pell Family Farm, Somers, CT

Roger Pell is the third generation owner/operator of Pell Farms in Somers, CT, in operation since 1930. He grows a very special small strawberry that is dark red right through to the calyx. We receive Pell Farm’s berries the day after picking, when they’ve been field-ripened and cooled during the truck ride to Baldor. You can still smell the sun-warmed, intense berry aroma emanating from each case, a real treat in summer and early fall.
