Wild blues are only around about 4-5 weeks- and less than 1% of all wild blueberries are harvested for the fresh market because harvesting, cleaning, packing and distributing is very labor intensive. The delicate berries are all raked by hand or machine and winnowed to remove leaves and debris. Low bush wild blueberries burst with intense sweet/tangy flavor and contain twice the antioxidants of cultivated blueberries.
